Rang Yai Island is a paradise located off the west coast of Phuket, Thailand. How to get to Rang Yai Island
There are several ways to get to Koh Rang Yai Island. One of the most convenient options is to join a day tour, which includes transportation to and from the island. Alternatively, you can kayak to the island from Phuket, though this is not recommended during poor weather conditions. A third option is to take a 20-minute boat ride on a longtail boat from Laem Hin Pier, located just north of Phuket Town.
Once you arrive on the island, you can choose to stay in one of the bamboo and thatch bungalows located on the north side of the beach, or in one of the basic bungalows located further inland. To get to the island, we decided to leave a little early in the morning and reach Laem Hin Pier around 9 am. From there, we booked a private longtail boat through a tour office, which cost 2,500 baht and included insurance. The boat ride was smooth and enjoyable, with stunning views of the surrounding islands and Phang Nga Bay. As we approached Koh Rang Yai, we were relieved to find that there were only a few other boats on the island. Our pilot gently parked the boat on the beach and set up a ladder for us to disembark.
