Heart Center
My
name is Mr. Peter Dillon, I ‘am 43 years old and I coming
from Melbourne Australia. I am expat and I been in Phuket for four
(4) years. I’ am House Constructer and Salesman. I have not
insurance so if I have to do something in the hospital I have to
pay by my self.
In this time I coming to the hospital for my own purpose, I got
lot of chest-pain. After examination and admit (24/Mar/2005) at
ICU the doctor find out I maybe have some blockage (coronary occlusion).
To find out the exactly problem the doctor recom-mends to do Catheterization.
From the beginning, when am be admitting at ICU, I was very upset
because nobody speak English good enough. I could not get good explanation
from anyone what happen. Many doctors and nurses pass my room but
no one could give me a good answer. Later on when Dr. Sopon Krisanarungson
(Interventional Cardiologist and Medical Director of Heart Center)
come to my room I get all the answer I need, even about the payment.
From that time Dr. Sopon been involved in my treatment everything
was splendid and I was quite happy (little afraid for my heart problem
but satisfied).
The Cardiac Catheterization went fine, without any problem, and
I could leave (be dis-charge on 29/Mar/2005) the hospital after
5 days, but of course I have to follow-up for heart check. Today
I can say I feeling much better now and before and I’ am very
happy the doctor find out what was wrong and finally I ‘am
not worry anymore.
About the payment (Invoice) will I say? Yes it is lot of money
I have to pay but according to the safely and good treatment I get
is it ok (And not to forget I get discount!). If someone do the
exactly treatment I do in Australia they have to pay lot more (without
Insurance of course).

Dental Treatment - Medical Check Up - Heart Center
Go To Dentist -- get your Heart restored.
One of the unlikely side benefits of staying at Connect
Guesthouse is the good relations they enjoy with the local private
hospital. Ferdia O'Dowd, a regular guest from Dublin, Ireland tells
his story:
I went to the Bangkok Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town on Tuesday
last week for dental work. When I was leaving -- with two teeth
perfectly restored -- members of the hospital's international department
persuaded me to take part in their "Senior Executive Health
Check Programme" which is at 50 per cent discount in off-season.
I said yes and agreed to come back fasting next morning ie Wednesday.
All went swimmingly well until I got to the stress test "rolling
road" machine where they wire you up to the electrocardiograph.
After a few minutes, the technician noticed an anomaly and very
shortly a cardiologist appeared and explained to me that the trace
showed strong evidence of a heart problem -- of which I knew nothing.
The director of the heart department then showed up, the two had
a short chat in Thai and told me that they wanted to admit me to
hospital there and then. Three hours later I was in theatre watching
on TV monitor as tube blew dye into my heart! After this was over,
the senior guy came (complete with his own hand drawn sketch) and
showed me that one of the lower arteries had serious disease and
that they proposed treatment for the following day, using a balloon
to blow artery out to normal size and then inserting a metal "stent"
to keep the artery open permanently.
I agreed. Thursday around midday
I went down to the catheter room and watched the whole thing again
on the monitors as the work was performed. Must admit I closed my
eyes once or twice! Spent Thursday night in the intensive care unit
and was let out on Friday at 5.00 pm with a sackful of various pills
to lower blood pressure and control high cholesterol. Said artery
had been 80 per cent blocked, so I, quite unknowingly, had been
facing into a serious heart attack in the near future! I had not
felt that bad -- although had been feeling tired and not sleeping
very well last six months.
This I assumed was due to rushing around,
overseas trips and moving residence. Any discomfort that I had had
was put down to indigestion problem for which I had been examined
and treated a few years ago.
Now I feel as if my whole body is lighter and running better, much
like a car that has been in for a full service and had dirty plugs
changed! Somebody somewhere has been saying a prayer for me. I had
walked -- by chance, almost -- into one of the best private hospitals
in SE Asia and one of only two in Thailand outside Bangkok with
a heart department capable of doing this very high tech work (they
also perform open heart surgery) If you, like me, are a middle aged
man and have not had a full physical check-up for some years (if
ever), consider taking the opportunity.
Its better to have the problem caught in time than try to recover
from a heart attack -- if you recover!

Dental Treatment
When
I visited the Phuket Dental Center in June, 2002, I hoped that they
would make my teeth like new. The truth is, they make them better
than new!
It was so easy to make the appointment over the internet from my
home in Vienna and Im more than satisfied with the work, which
didnt hurt (pain or price!). Ill come again and tell
my friends to do the same. Thanks!

Dialysis Treatment
The
dialysis unit at Bangkok Phuket Hospital is excellent.
I found the staff as good as any in the private hospital. The dialysis
treatment was so good at this hospital.
I practically decided to move from London to live in Phuket !
Really excellent. And really kind.
Ms. Glynis Murray

When
I arrived Thailand we stopped in Bangkok where the staff of Phuket
Health and Travel arrange the first dialysis for me.
The first impression when I came to Bangkok General Hospital was
excellent. Everything was perfectly organised. All the time I had
co-ordinator to help us, when we needed help. They also took care
of transportation which was very important for me because Bangkok
is a big and busy city.
Because of all good experiences in the hospital, I felt even better
during my stay in the capital of Thailand, Bangkok.
I would really like to thank all the staff in Bangkok General Hospital
and Bangkok Phuket Hospital for treating me so good.
A special thanks to the staff of Phuket Health and Travel for her
effort and kindness.
I really like Thailand and I hope I will return some day.
Veronika Belec

Having
a dialysis treatment done while you are travelling abroad can be
a very frightening experience. What will the procedure be like?
Will it be similar to your usual treatment or totally different.
The nurse and the staff at Bangkok Phuket Hospital were very reassuring.
From the moment I entered the Dialysis Center until the time I left.
I felt as if I was a regular patient, in stead of one in transit.
Communication was not a problem since many of the nurses and staff
speak English. The dialysis Center was clean and spacious and the
care provided there was excellent. If you plan to visit Thailand,
I would highly recommend the Bangkok General Hospital Group.

Phuket, where your baby can be born in paradise

Dear Bangkok- Phuket Hospital,
My wife Limprapan gave birth to our daughter on September 26. I
was very happy with your hospital and professional attention you
gave my wife, daughter and me. My name is James Pearson and was
very impressed with the obstetrician, Dr. Kittipat Pongpetch and
the pediatrician, Dr. Varatda Plainert.
I just wanted to thank you for a job well done and I would recommend
your hospital and doctors to any foreigners I know.
Kind regards,

Heart Center
While
visiting PP Island, I had a heart attack. I was brought to the pier
where a fully- equiped ambulance was waiting for me. It was ready
to transfer me to Bangkok Phuket Hospital. The transport procedure
happened quickly and smoothly and that saved me. I was so surprised
that medical facilities were much better than I expected. I would
like to thank all the people at Bangkok Phuket Hospital, especially
the Japanese staff from Phuket Health and Travel who was my co-ordinator.
I was informed that Phuket Health and Travel is the subsidiary company
of Bangkok Phuket Hospital.
Mr. Tea Koganei.

General services
I
find the service at Bangkok Phuket Hospital very good. The staff
are helpful and friendly, and it was easy to get an appointment
through Phuket Health and travel via an email.
Ms.Terese Martensson.

I was recently in Phuket on my honeymoon. I had the unfortunate
luck to become ill resulting in being hospitalised for 2 days.
During my stay I had the pleasure of having "Djui" as
my nurse (I understand her correct name is Sirisuda). Djui was so
attentive to every need, she was pleasant, caring and an example
of what nursing is all about. During my stay she made me feel like
I was safe, secure and in a healing environment. While I would have
preferred not to be there at all, Djui made the stay bearable and
I thank her for that. She is wonderful!!!! As helpful as all the
staff were to my husband and I, without the assistance of Gitta
and the other multi-lingual staff I wonder how it would have worked
out!
So, to all the staff on Ward 4D, my heart felt thanks and my utmost
appreciation for your assistance.
