Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Tummy Tuck Information:
• Length of stay (in Phuket) : Around 8 – 10 days in Phuket are required
• Surgery : 3 hours
• Anesthesia : General Anesthesia
• Hospitalization : 4 night
• Follow up : Around 1 week after surgery

Procedure information and technique:
An incision will be made from one hipbone to the other in the area above the pubic region and another one to allow the navel to detach from the surrounding tissue, but the incision size will depend on how much skin needs to be removed. The size of the incision will depend on if the tummy tuck is a mini tummy tuck or a complete/full tummy tuck.

The skin is separated from the abdominal wall and the abdominal muscles are tightened by pulling them closer together and stitching them into that pulled position. By tightening the abdominal muscles it can narrow the waistline even more by resulting in a firmer abdominal wall. The muscles are exposed when the surgeons make a skin flap that is later stretched down with the extra skin removed. Since the location of your belly button is moved during a tummy tuck surgery, a new hole is cut to re-stitch the belly button into place. Tummy tucks are able to remove the effects of pregnancy on the abdomen.

Results of Tummy Tuck:
• Excess fat and skin will be removed from middle and lower abdomen.
• The muscle s of abdomen wall will be tighten ed.

Liposuction

Surgical Procedure:

Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery operations. The small canula is placed deep into fatty layer and presser suction is applied until the fat is removed. Carefully sculpting contour of the body is the key of success because the fat under skin must be removed and the remain fat have to be smooth but thinner layer. After the surgery is complete, pressure dressing must be worn to the suction site to keep body contour in shape.

Duration of Operation: Thirty minnutes.

Risks and Complications:

Bruise over the liposuction site usually seen on the first few days after surgery and will be disappear in the first week. Waving skin (rare) happens because of excess fat removal.

After Care: Pressure garment have to apply for a few days after surgery to keep body contour to be in shape and to reduce the post operative bruises.

Recovery: Pain because of the surgery is very limited and patient can go back to work within two days.

Results: You will see a noticeable difference in the shape of your body quite soon after surgery. However, improvement will become even more apparent after about four to six weeks, when most of the swelling has subsided. After about three months, any persistent mild swelling usually disappears and the final contour will be visible.

Hospital Admission: One night admission to hospital.

Anesthetic: General Anesthesia ( you are asleep )

Pre Operative Care:

Your surgeon will begin with a physical examination to evaluate your overall weight, your skin and muscle tone, and the pattern of distribution of fat deposits. He/she will also record a complete medical history, including your diet, exercise, and weight history. You will need to let him or her know about any medications that you are currently taking.

Post Operative Care:

You should avoid strenuous activities for several weeks as your body heals, but within 4 to 6 weeks you should be able to resume all normal activities. It’s important to continue wearing the compression garment, which should be easily hidden under your clothing, until your doctor tells you that it is no longer necessary
