About the hospital
Bangkok
Phuket Hospital began its construction in July 1993. The hospital
is a joint venture between Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Plc.(BDMS),
Anuphas & Sons Co., Ltd. and a group of local investors. The
total investment at the time was 800 million Baht.
Bangkok Phuket Hospital is the part of BGH group with 15 hospitals
and 1 pharmacy manufacturing under its umbrella, thus sharing know
how and resources within the network of hospitals and affiliated
medical institutions.
Up-to-date communication facilities are installed to enable fast
and efficient decision making with Bangkok General Hospital. The
telemedicine installation can transmit x-ray images and patient
data, including real-time cardiac monitoring, to BGH thus giving
full access to other specialists for further consultation.
A hospital cannot function without doctors, nurses and technical staff. Out of our 630 persons strong staff team, BPK employs 56 full-time physicians across the spectrum of medical care and a further 75 on a consulting basis.

When In-patient medical service is needed at Bangkok Phuket Hospital
you should present your insurance certificate, membership or assistance
card to hospital staff. The international co-ordinator will submit
all information of the claim (including the medical report) to your
insurance/assistance company or claim agent. The insurer will normally
give their decision to pay for your treatment or not within 24 hours.
Most tourists who require Outpatient treatment will need to pay
for their care personally at the time of treatment. Documentation
to assist an out-patient in making a claim after treatment, such
as a doctors letter, will, naturally, be provided. People
insured through Japanese and Scandinavian companies can apply for
treatment under the medical cashless service.
